No One But You

As I was in prayer this morning, I was caught up in worship. I kept saying, “No One But You.’’ This has been the cry of my heart. He is the King of My heart, and nobody can take that away. No trial or situation, for I have decided as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. I cherish all that He has blessed me with and with that I choose to be eternally grateful. As we are coming back from this time of confusion caused by covid19. I am reflecting on what I have learned. One thing I learned is I was too busy, Lol! I have been able to scale back to what is important. I was not spending enough time giving thanks for all that I have been blessed with. I gave thanks in passing, it was coming

My Father's House

The smell of fresh baked bread or the sweet aroma of cinnamon rolls right from the oven. For many people this brings back the memories of their mom or grandmother. For me, it brings back memories of my father’s house. It wasn’t that my mother couldn’t cook, because she could and did. It was the fact that my father had a passion for cooking, especially baking. He loved to see the smile on people’s faces or hear them say, “hmmmmm” when they tasted something he had prepared. Now that my father is gone I miss those days. Trips to my father’s house was always an event. When I look in the mirror there are times I think that maybe the nut did not fall far from the tree. I love to cook. Eve

Consistency

As a High School coach, I am always looking for my players to show up every day with the same intensity and work ethic. We call it consistency. Those players who are not as consistent tend not to get put into the action as much, and when they do, they rarely produce positive results. We have a heavenly Father who is looking for players on his team that are consistent. He set a fantastic example for us to live by, Hebrews 13:8 lays it out for us. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forevermore.” How consistent are we? How often does our “coach” give us the tough assignments because he knows we are his most consistent players? That question hits home with me and gets me thinking

Faith to Forgiveness and Healing

Are you missing something? Do you have wounds? Scars that no one can see? I do, as I know if you are human we all have some sort of wound or scar. Whatever yours may be, there is healing.... Do you want healing? I know I do. Do you have obstacles or as I call them speed bumps in your life? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to not have these and just be whole? “Lord, I want to be whole!” has been the cry of many of our hearts in the midst of hardship and suffering and even sicknesses. Most of our trials are related to our relationships with others. Despite our devotion to God, depression, discontent, anger, bitterness, and frustration these are all symptoms indicating that we have “poo

Seek Out the Gifts

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:1-4 NASB The purpose of prophecy is to align what has been misaligned. God instilled His perfect blueprint for your life even before you were born. There are times in life where the world misaligns us from our natural identity. Prophecy is meant to realign what has been messed up. Prophecy

His Well Doing

Colossians 1:16 For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist though Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. Lean into Me always and confidently, My embrace is a covering that brings peace, a settled heart and a flooding of unspeakable love. My Son covered your sins; and defends you in the judgement seat. Pursuing an intimate stance requires wooing of the Beloved because He is the One love you cannot do without. He restoreth, refreshes, lightens the load, brightens your countenance, sets your heart right! Eye has not seen, nor ear has

The Ocean

We were praying and listening to music and in the midst of the song Peace be Still I found my spirit rocking and it made me feel almost like water slowly back and forth rocking. I opened my eyes and I’m on a beach right around dusk. I hear the water rushing in and out the ebb and flow. I look down barefoot feet making prints in the sand. More connected to the earth you placed me on. I remember my kids being small and they were squealing and in awe of being at the beach. The water slowly reaches my toes, bit by bit the water is going higher. The peace that it brings to my soul and yet the small fear of knowing it can be dangerous. Lord this is what my soul feels when reaching for you. I feel

Abundantly Blessed

“I’m getting rid of some fabric. Do you want it?” Wendy asked while we visited, during our shopping trip, at Cosco. “Of course, I never refuse fabric. When do you want me to get it? I could come tomorrow.” “I’ll be at work, but that will work great. I’ll sort it out, put it in bags, and lay them on the porch for you.” I thought she’ll have a couple small bags of fabric to give me. Not so. When I arrived at her home, there were six large trash bags, full of various fabric. I’m amazed at how God uses different people and circumstances to bless me with fabric and yarn. June, a friend from Montana, mailed me two boxes of fabric already cut into quilt squares. Susan’s mother was cleaning out a st

Priority Friend

Psalm 95:6-7 “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.” I love this verse because this is how I start my day. I love to spend time with the Lord, I love to meet with Him in our secret place. I long to worship Him and commune with Him and learn His heart. It is such a comfort to me to know that I am under His care. He is the great Shepherd and He is looking for me, as any good shepherd would. He is also looking for you. Have you checked in with the Father today? Have you come to Him just to tell Him you love Him? That you’re thankful He redeemed your life from the pit and crowned you

The Chair

I often pass my chair in my room full of clothes and catch all. Do you have a place in your home? One that you pass every day but you tend to leave it untouched and untidied? When I do get around to cleaning the chair, I realize I have things that aren’t mine or things that have been thrown in the chair that I should have never put in it in the first place. Sometimes I find that others tend to throw things in the chair and I don’t even realize it’s there. I have been praying into my past looking for the anchors that I planted from past hurt and past sin. And I realize that in the spiritual realm I have a chair that I have thrown some of these things and I can’t see them for the things that I

Rest

Throughout scripture, the word rest appears a lot. It is something God obviously wants us to have as part of our lives. But how exactly do we rest? Do we just take a nap, or lay around and do nothing for a while, or maybe take a long vacation. God simply wants us to quit worrying about so many different things in our lives that we really can’t control. The first thing we can do is rest in his providence. We must trust and know that he is sovereign and knows and controls every aspect of our lives. Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. If he loves us enough to know how many hairs we have on our head can we

His Thumbprint I See

Have you, Beloved, gone back and pondered on the day- such as the day of your covenant union, and reminisced and relived: 1. What that looked and felt like? 2. What thoughts you had? 3. How God was ministering to you? 4. The state of your heart? For me, clarity of heart and mind and spirit stands out, in the midst of moving parts. A day affirmed, settled, unquestionable certainty of my chosen path with the one I love still! The day was beautiful, yes, but the gladness of heart to this day is overwhelming. A big decision was so easy to make, because I was all in for this person, whom I adore. God was shining upon us, smiling for us, and already working on us. Secure love -powerful and anchori

The Fall

In Genesis 3 you can read about “The Fall” and see how Adam and Eve responded to stumbling. Eve was deceived by the serpent and took Adam down with her by offering him the fruit. Their eyes were open and they sewed fig leaves for clothing. They heard the sound of God and hid. The beauty of this story is that God still provided after the stumble. He provided clothing for Adam and Eve. Have you ever felt like Adam and Eve and hid from God? As humans when we stumble and fall, instead of running to the Father and asking for forgiveness and help, we see ourselves as imperfect. We see all the flaws just like Adam and Eve and we hid. We find fig leaves (excuses to cover ourselves up with) and then

Spiritual War - Strongholds

2 Corinthians 10:3-5. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. The term, “stronghold” may not be a part of your everyday vocabulary but it would be helpful to understand this concept as a person is brought out of bondage into freedom. A stronghold can be defined as an ingrained repetitive thinking process your mind regularly travels down. What you think determines how you see yourself, how you see others, and how

Fear Buster

Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit pinned one of the most encouraging truths for all generations, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT) Fear was an unknown to Adam and Eve in the paradise that God had created for them. However, when the deception of the serpent was acted on, the fall of mankind entered along with fear. The good news is even though Adam and Eve were afraid for the first time and hid from God, God knew where they were and did not leave them. The Bible is very clear, “In this world you will have trouble.” (John 16:3

Covered Dishes

I recently was at a prayer group with Grambo and she said to pray for her generation. She said often times you get to an age that you don’t feel others are hearing or listening and that they have so much to bring to the table but feel like they are “leftovers” when it comes to the church and the new generations rising. After she had said this God said they are my “covered dishes” and it’s time to bring them to the table. I often find myself drawn to the elders for wisdom and strength and children for honesty and truthfulness. Truthfully I find myself lost in my generation with not many to turn to that I feel safe in. I know how to be a parent but even that I fail in and I yearn for those cov

Cast Down the Stronghold of Cold Love

Matthew 24:12. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. I recently read a great little book called The Three Battlegrounds by Francis Frangipani and he said: Is your love growing and becoming softer, brighter, more daring, and more visible? Or is it becoming more discriminating, more calculating, less vulnerable, and less availably? This is a very important issue, for your Christianity is only as real as your love. A measurable decrease in your ability to love is evidence that a stronghold of cold love is developing within you. The measure of one’s love is found in the depth of his or her commitment to others. When someone withdraws his commitment to a relation

Follow Me

Jesus made it all so simple with 2 lil ole words… “FOLLOW ME.” If that and that only is done, everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING, falls into place. It’s just that simple. What makes that tough is that it means surrender of self. Surrender of what I feel, what I need, what I think. What does Jesus feel? What does Jesus need? What does Jesus think? He gives us the answers. Truth is, most people don’t like those answers. They think theirs are better. Hence the state of the world in which we live. The Answer to every problem we see on the news and in our lives today is Jesus. LORD give us sense enough to hear You and to follow.

The Writings on the Wall

This last year the restoration group had written on the wall in the prayer room that the choir uses. There were sins and scriptures written on the wall. The plan was to tear that wall down to make a bigger room for restoration group. They eventually decided to keep the wall up and move them to the “dining room” which if you think about it, is fitting because we are feeding them by words and food. That being said, the words have now been painted over and we went about our lives. We would come and go in the prayer room, praying and seeking Him. In our prayer meeting we were told to pray, there is the word “pride” that keeps bleeding through on the wall no matter how much it’s painted over. Ma

What Is Love?

In the world today you see hate on the news, social media, and walking into a store. I began really searching for the true meaning of love because in the world today love has turned into what the Bible says love is not, jealous, boastful, proud, irritable, demanding its own way, and delighting in injustice. You see this false sense of love on the news and social media. In 1 Corinthians 13, Love is patient, kind, rejoices when truth wins out, never gives up, never loses faith, always hopes, endures through every circumstance, and never fails. The word LOVE is used so loosely if you really look at the Biblical definition of Love. We as Christians must get better at showing the true definition
