The Season of Winter

When I was asked to write a devotion my first thought was, “I don’t think that is my gifting.” But then I remembered all the times I had used Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.

We live in the woods, and as I was looking at the trees, they appeared to be dead, but I know that Genesis 8:22 says, As long as the earth endures seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. I know that soon the red bud and dogwood tress will be in full bloom.

Sometimes we go through a winter season of the soul, when this happens think back at all the wonderful blessings from your Heavenly Father who said, I will never leave you or forsake you. Begin to worship and praise Him.

When the leaves are off the trees, I can see the beautiful sunsets. Malachi 4:2 says, But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.
