A Lost Generation

Compared with their elders today, young people are much less

likely to affiliate with any religious tradition or to identify

themselves as part of a Christian denomination. Fully one-in-four

adults under age 30 (25%) are unaffiliated, describing their

religion as “atheist,” “agnostic” or “nothing in particular.”

It is time as a church to see that we are losing a generation. The

generation today has been led away by the lukewarm church. I

am not speaking out of condemnation but only as a wake-up

call. Why go to church and see the same people that judge them

and look down on them instead of reaching out a helping hand?

If we truly become who Christ has intended us to be, people

around us who are going through a rough time would be drawn

to us for council, and prayer.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be

hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket,

but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the

house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they

may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in

heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 NASB

My Prayer

Heavenly Father give me a hunger for your word and a burden

for your people. Let my heart be led by your Holy Spirit and my

words be guided by your wisdom. Help me not to judge but have

compassion.

Let my life be my testimony, to be a rock for those whose lives

are shaken. Draw the hearts of the people around me so that I

can have influence and win the lost generation to you. Amen
