Walking in His Steps
Like a child walking in snow stepping in the footsteps of his
father ahead of him. That is what God teaches us to do.
To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls
his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he puts forth
all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him
because they know his voice. John 10:3-4 NASB
First we have to know his voice. This is one thing that I
constantly pray for. Most people struggle with hearing Gods
voice. But knowing his voice only comes from constant prayer
and listening rather than talking. I like to just enter a time of
worship. I use this to block everything else out, completely
surrender to that time of prayer. life. I pray that he opens doors of opportunity
and then I can I also pray for his will over my step out in faith when he does.
One time Natalie and I were eating at a busy restaurant and God
spoke to me and told me to go pray for a lady. She was older
and she was eating with her two daughters. Now I had prayed
for opportunity and God had spoken. What comes next is
stepping out in faith. I told Natalie what I had to do and was so
nervous. And wanted maybe a little less embarrassing situation,
but just like God knew what she was going through, he also
knew that I had to conquer my fear. So, I walked up and
introduced myself and asked if I could pray for her. I can't
remember what I prayed but God gave the words, and with my
obedience He did the rest. God knew what she was going
through. When I finished there wasn't a dry eye at the table, it
was clear Holy Spirit was present.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father I pray that I always stay in a place of prayer so
I can hear your voice. I pray for your will for me and my family.
Guide my steps. Use me to be a witness for you. You know your
children and know everything we are going through. Let me help
people that are going through hard times, by just letting them
know that you see us and are with us. I pray that I always feel
your Holy Spirit and that he uses me as a channel to speak to
those who need Him.
Amen
