Bright Light

April 5, 2017

The phone ringing was a rude awakening from a pleasant afternoon nap. I wasn’t ready to get up, but the clock showed it was time for me to get back to the real world. As I was getting up, I noticed a bright light on the corner of the wall at my head. I first thought a flashlight was on shining on the wall. As I sat up to investigate, I noticed the bright light became a shadow. The shadow stopped me in my tracks. The light on the wall measured about 4” x 24” and very bright. I turned to see where the light was coming from that I caused a shadow by sitting up. When I looked in the only direction it could come from I saw the bedroom door going into the dining room. My line of vision went from the bedroom, through the dining room, through the corner of the kitchen, into the living room patio door. It was a small “straight shot”. I called my husband and pointed to the light on the wall and asked him if he knew where it was coming from. He looked around, when he couldn’t see the source in the room, I pointed toward the door. He too was amazed at the path the light had to take to shine on our bedroom wall. I walked off the path, having to make a turn around the end of the bed, around a corner in the kitchen, around a counter in the kitchen to the far corner of the patio door. It took 37 “steps” to get within view of the reflection of the sun into our house.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help;

I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me? (The Message version)

Romans 8:38-39 I'm absolutely convinced that nothing - nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. (The Message version)

It is wonderful the way the Holy Spirit gives us understanding of His Word.
