Behold!

“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

John 1:29

Do you feel lighter, freer, and at peace today? I encourage you, this day, to have these thoughts:

  • God loves me

  • God gave His only son for me

  • Jesus is for me

  • Jesus has made a way for me

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3

Start everyday by filling your mind and thoughts with Jesus. When you occupy your mind with Jesus; every struggle, need, and fear loses its impression on your thoughts.

In the Old Testament, there is a wonderful picture of Jesus showing us His freedom. Under the old covenant of law, those who sinned were told to bring a sheep that was without blemish, wrinkle, or spot to the priest. The priest does not examine the person to see if he is perfect (without sin), because he has sinned. So the priest examines the sheep. If the sheep is perfect, the person who has sinned, lays his hands on the sheep in an act of transferring his sins to the innocent sheep. At the same time, the innocence and perfection of the sheep are transferred to the person. The sheep is then killed, and the person leaves with his conscience cleared and his sin debt forgiven. That person walks away with a blameless conscience both before God and before man.

Thank you Jesus! Can you see Jesus in this old testament practice? It's all about Jesus being the perfect lamb of God for us.

My Prayer

Jesus, thank you for: 1. Forgiving me 2. Cleansing me 3. Making me righteous 4. Making me a new creation 5. Giving me a new family

6. Giving me a new freedom and peace
