Worship From My Heart
We are created to worship. Worship is the easiest thing we can
do, and yet the hardest when it comes to our flesh getting in the
way. Just like it is so easy to get excited when everything is
going good. When you get a raise, when you get a new job, that
you have been wanting, when you are on top of the mountain
praise comes easy. You worship with ease. It flows out of you
like a river.
The worship that should come out of you should never change.
This is what God has been teaching me. I am in a season where
I am on the potters wheel, where God is molding my heart and
stripping me of all that does not belong. I have had to surrender
to his hand.
So in this season I have had to push through my emptiness. I
have had to make a sacrifice of praise.
“Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of
praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His
name. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such
sacrifices God is pleased.”
Hebrews 13:15-16 NASB
One of the things I have learned while on the wheel is, through
my sacrifice of praise I have grown closer to God. When I have
been emptiest and still praised him with my heart, I have heard
God the clearest. The reality of it is God desires and definitely
deserves our best and highest worship, no matter if you are on
top of your mountain or in your valley. He is the same powerful
and mighty God he did not change.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father let my praise continue to be pleasing to your
ears. Let me worship from my heart. Let me not get distracted
by the situation I am going through, but focus only on you.
When I stop looking at my problems and focus my life on you,
you take care of my problems you split the Red Sea, and I walk
across on dry ground. I thank you for forming me into who you
have created me to be.
