Come Home

John 14:23 If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

How amazing! In our spirit dwells the Spirit of God; the place He makes His home, His dwelling place, and where He abides. The place where His Holy Spirit and our human spirit touch.

My favorite word is "Home", a place of warmth, hearth, belonging, and a place of acceptance. Home is a place that when you leave, you can't wait to get back to. When God created us, He put a deep yearning in our heart for intimacy with Him. A homesickness for our true home (coming home to the heart of the Father).

I ask the Holy Spirit to make my human spirit a welcoming atmosphere for His presence. The aroma of fresh baked "Living" bread, cold refreshing "Living" water, crushed grapes for new wine, and the sweet aroma of anointing oil. I also ask for the

windows of heaven to open for the breath of the Holy Spirit to blow through.

Through our relationship with Jesus Christ, we can boldly enter into His presence, the Holy of Holies. Because of our relationship and closeness with Him, we are safe at home in the Fathers heart. It is in the intimacy of His presence that we draw our life. No matter where we are, we sense His present nearness....home.

Ever since the fall, man has experienced a gaping hole of emptiness that only His presence can fill. We are designed for close fellowship and communication with our creator. How He so enjoyed walking in the garden, in the cool of the evening, with Adam and Eve before the evil one deceived them. We that know Him, can walk with Him in the garden of our heart and bask in the warmth of His loving acceptance and security in His presence.

Genesis 3:8-9 , and they heard the voice of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord among the trees of the garden, and the Lord called to Adam and said, "Where are you?"

This cry of the Father still resounds through the ages. Calling, Come unto Me, all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. The Father's heart is watching for His prodigal sons to come home!

Exodus 15:13 In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.

Home at last!
