God's Word- Our Soul's Nourishment

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

The word meaning for inspiration could be substituted for the “breath in His Word” each day to keep us alive and well. Jesus quoted it to the devil when He said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4. Jesus tells us in this text that there is NO survival of our soul without God's Word. His Word is to be sought and fed upon by all believers. This is not a matter of legal duty, determining one's salvation, but a matter of personal responsibility, which will determine our obedience to the path of discipleship. 1 Peter declares, that God's Word is as essential to the believer as milk is to a newborn baby. But as we come to terms with His Word as the key to our survival, we also see and taste that God has given its pleasantness as a joyful source of sweetness for our daily living.

John 1:1 says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Word is Jesus Christ, the eternal ultimate expression of Father God to all mankind. In the Old Testament, God spoke the world into existence, but in the gospels, God spoke His final Word through the living Word , Jesus, His son. The phrase, “the Word was God”, attributes deity to the Word and therefore we call God's book the Holy Bible. Satan has tried all down through history to destroy the Word of God, by burning the written forms, expelling those who preached the Word, and even yet today, taking it out of our schools, public offices, and off of our governmental displays. But it is written in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth will pass away but My Words will by NO means pass away.”
