Jesus Grew in Wisdom & Favor with God and Man... (Luke 2:52)

Jesus had to grow, so does everyone and especially those that are close to us as children and grandchildren. Keep going, leading, teaching, training and being a Godly example in word and deed.

Here are tips for families.

  1. A child as young as 12 months begins to parrot their parent’s behavior. We are role models through our daily actions

  2. When you ask your child for something or to do something, say please or thank you. In speaking with adults, it is always “Yes Sir, No Sir, Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am”. The place of “Honor” is vital in people skills.

  3. 24/7 Instructions. In Deuteronomy 6:7 implies 24/7 instruction. What ways can you incorporate teaching your children or grandchildren into your daily routine?

  4. Pray with your children daily. If you can write out your prayers that is so helpful.

  5. Read the Bible to your children, especially before bedtime.

  6. Start a daily routine of reading a proverb a day which

lines up with the day of the month. Then find one verse

you can apply to your life.

  1. Take food to the poor and needy. Proverbs 19:17 says,

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 28:27 says, “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.”

I encourage you to write a family mission and purpose statement. Let God’s Word direct your standards for being intentional. In James 1:22 it states, “But be doers of the Word of God and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Our key in life is to be living Epistles as a family seen by all! (2 Corinthians 3:2-3
