Invisible vs Visible (Part 1)

The title seems strange for a devotional but it is the only one given me. I want to preface this devotion with a “dab” of personal testimony. When I found the Holy Spirit and His gifts, my Christian walk changed tremendously! If you have been satisfied with “less” then you need to question WHY? I attended one church for over 20 years; from day one my seat was usually third row center. I didn’t want to miss anything-testimonies, prayer, songs, sermons, miracles, etc. I took. Notes and still take. Notes for almost every service I am in- it isn’t easy (every preacher is different) but something goes in my notebooks. In all those years, I can’t recall missing any services- revivals, VBS, women’s group, prayer meetings, all three church services, teen events, music groups and special teachings.

Those were my days of training for NOW! During that time, the Lord moved me to the last row in the church and I was there until I came to the Sanctuary. You will find me on row 7-center; I rarely move and that has to do with the Holy Spirit more than me. So you might say, I am very visible-not what I always wanted but what the Lord wants is more important to me.

I always pray before services that He will open my eyes to see what I need to see; to open my ears to hear; to open my mind to receive, and finally touch my heart. Many years ago I was very vocal, had a shout, tears running down my face, arguing with the Lord about gifts, and lots of “Amen” and “Preach it”. Again, I became visible to others.

If you proclaim to be His child you should be visible to those around you. He has work for all of us to do because time will eventually run out. We are not called to just take up space in church.

In my opinion, we have great services. I have been in dull ones and believe me when I say the Holy Spirit is moving at the Sanctuary of Hope. I don’t want to attend a church that has been the same way! I get excited because the Word is going to be taught or preached. I get to be with family and see the Holy Spirit move on hearts. I hate to see people leave for any reason but change has to come so things stay fresh. God has an agenda for each one of us and we need to be willing to become more flexible.

Lift up your hands in the Sanctuary, and Bless the Lord. Psalm 134:3 I will lift up my hands in your name. Psalm 63:1 Use your Bible to look this topic up and then say, Why don’t I do it? Why don’t I do it more often? Do I lift my hands at home in front of my spouse or my children? When I go to a revival or different church? No one should lift their hands to be seen like the Pharisee but do you not lift your hand because you came out of a different church? You don’t feel worthy? Lazy? Both hands are fantastic because you feel the liberty it brings with it. Remember you don’t have to be a minister to lift hands and you don’t have to do it all the time- but are you INVISIBLE?
