A Sign

How many of us as Christians desire a “sign from God”? God know the desires of your heart. He knows the sincerity and trust you have in Him. He has a work or calling for each of us to do, and He know who will fulfill that work or calling. Many of us feel that calling but are not certain that it is from God. We want some king of a sign. Gideon was that kind of person. Gideon said to God, “If thou will save Israel by my hand, I will put a fleece of wool on the floor and if he dew be on the fleece only and it is dry on the earth then shall I know that thou will save Israel by my hand.” That night it was as Gideon requested, the fleece was wet with dew and the ground was dry. Judges 6:36-40

Gideon still wasn’t convinced and desired a second sign from God. In verse 39 he asked God this time that the fleece be dry and the ground wet with dew. God responded that night and the next morning the fleece was dry and there was dew on the ground.

God hears our prayers and answers them as He desires, sometimes with a sign and sometimes not.

God speaks to us in different ways. We need to listen with our heart and mind and not be looking for a sign only.
