God Cares

One of the battles I am fighting is insomnia so I grab whatever time I can to rest. This morning I went back to bed after my husband left for work and was sleeping pretty good when a knock woke me up. I looked at the clock and saw it was about time for my grandkids to come for the day. I jumped (as fast as I can “jump out of bed”) and went to unlock the door. There wasn’t anyone there. I looked to see if they had gone to another door but no one was there. I thanked the Lord for waking me up. It was just a few minutes later they came bouncing through the door. I’m not sure what they would have done if they had been locked out and I hadn’t been able to wake up. The events this morning brought to my memory of something I experienced years ago.

Many years ago we were faced with a serious need. As I prayed fervently for an answer, I was seeing a vision of thickly overgrown jungle. The growth was so thick a person couldn’t stick their hand through it. I knew it was representing the position we were in. My brain was going wild at the moment at the hopelessness ahead. Suddenly, there was a path being cut. It was like a huge bulldozer, because I couldn’t see what was doing it, just what was being done. The path was wide and easily maneuvered. Peace came over me. His promises filled my soul – I will never leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5), I will make a way where there is no way (Isaiah 43:19).

Today, more than ever before, we have only the hope in the promises of our God. He gave all, His son Jesus, to pay and pave the way for us, His children. Our only requirement, after accepting His love, is to believe and receive all He has provided for us. He cares about anything and everything that concerns us and about which we care. Again, His promise: Casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Our responsibility: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised; (Hebrews 10:23).

Let Him clear a path where there doesn’t seem to be one but, yet, is the way He is leading you. Just a thought – if He isn’t clearing the way, wait, make sure of the way He is leading you. But that’s another day.
