Serve Others
Romans 14 v. 12 "So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God."
At the end of our life on earth you and I will stand before God, and he is going to evaluate how well we served others with the lives He gave us.
Think about the implications of that. One day God will compare how much time and energy we spent on ourselves compared with what we invested in serving others for Him. On this day all our excuses for self-centeredness will sound hollow. "I was too busy," or "I had my own goals," or “I was preoccupied with working, having fun, or preparing for my future." To all excuses God will respond. "Sorry, wrong answer. I created you, saved you, and called you and commanded you to live a life of service for Me. What part of that did you not understand."
The Bible warns us in Romans 2 v.8 "for those who are self seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger." For Christians, it will mean a loss of eternal rewards.
We are only fully alive when we are serving others in Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Mark 8:35, "If you insist on saving your life, you will lose it. Only those who lose their lives for My sake and for the sake of the good news will ever know what it means to really live."
This truth is so important that it is repeated five times in the Gospels. If you are not serving in Jesus Christ then I feel we are just existing in this world. God wants us to Love and Serve Him and one another unselfishly.
Today I challenge you to serve God and along with that, someone else in some way. To move outside your comfort zone and truly do something for God, that on the day we stand and give an account of your life, God can say well done my good and faithful servant.
