Possible

Did you ever wonder what a child could grow up to accomplish if they’d never been told they had limitations by someone? Maybe a parent, a teacher, or an older sibling told them they weren’t smart enough or good enough in some area. And, because the child believed them, it limited their opinion of what was possible. Some grow up and discover that what they were told was not true. Others grow up believing a lie, and it limits their life. Can you imagine what we could do if only we believed we could? If no one had ever told us something was impossible. If we believed what God says, instead of the other voices.

Years ago, we had a little dog named Cocoa. He could easily jump up on a bed or chair whenever he chose to. However, when we had to leave him home alone, we would put him in a bathroom with the door open and put a small 8-inch board in the doorway. No matter how long we were gone, he stayed in the bathroom. One day our little grandson asked me why Cocoa didn’t just hop over the board. I thought a moment and then said, because he doesn’t know he can. In his mind, the board is a huge obstacle that he’s never tried to overcome. I don’t want to be a Cocoa, do you?

In your life, that thing that looks so big, so insurmountable, is keeping you penned up right where you are, unable to move ahead and have the freedom God wants you to have. It’s all in our perspective. If God says He’s always with you, goes before you, and never leaves you, then you can overcome any obstacle. He says you can have what you have the faith to believe for. The choice is ours. Jesus says all things are possible to him who believes. He says, as a man thinks, so is he. That means as a man believes in his heart, so is he. The Lord says when you pray you can put a thousand to flight, and if someone joins you, ten thousand will flee.

What have you allowed to hold you back from God’s plan? If you can think of something that is keeping you in bondage or holding you back, replace your view of it with what God says about it. Write down what He says and remind yourself of that whenever doubt creeps in. There are no limits to a child of God who is being led by the Holy Spirit.
