Today...The Word is "Redeem".

Today... The Word is "Redeem".

The term redeem Comes from two words: re meaning "again" and deem meaning "to buy". We say it like this, to buy back or to recover.

Peter reminds us we were not redeemed with gold or silver like with a slave or hostages, but with the precious blood of Christ Jesus (I Peter 1:19).

In scripture terms, redemption is the act by which God delivers us from the bondage of sin by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Verses to Build On..... ...you were bought with a price. - I Corinthians 6:20 ...In Him we have redemption through His blood. - Ephesians 1:7 ..."having been justified by His blood." - Romans 5:9 This Christmas season say as Job said, "I know, as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives." Jesus paid the price, He counted the cost, He bought you and I back to Himself at a sacrificial price. Remember this season, Give and it will be returned.

To close, Job 19:25-26 tells us......

  • I have a Redeemer...you and I have that same Redeemer.

  • I have a redeemer....we have a redeemer that's "Alive".

  • I have a redeemer that will come again and stand on this earth.

  • Job said, "I will see Him with my eyes..." You and I will see Him

with our eyes.

  • I might die Job said but that's not it, and for you and I to die

that's not it. The story goes on.

  • That in my new body I will see God....you and I will see Him.

My prayer - God, help me to know the depth of Redemption more, it has become sweet to my soul. Thank you, Lord.
