I Have Hid God's Word in my Heart...

I remember at Bible college, the day after Hurricane Alicia struck Galveston and Houston, Texas, directly causing 1.7 billion in damages and killing 21 people. We were right in the midst of it all and instead of panicking, I felt God's presence. Bible verses and peace began flooding through my mind and body even though I wasn't able to read my Bible at that moment.

”I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." (Psalm 119:11)

Hiding God's Word in your heart means more than just reading a few verses here and there. It means spending time with it on a daily basis. It means memorizing passages. It means talking to God about His Word and using that knowledge to guide your daily choices and decisions.

For me, having God's Word hidden in my heart was the difference between terror and trust. When God's word is firmly planted in your heart and mind, it is rooted to stay with you. You can find peace and guidance no matter what the situation. How much time do you spend with God's Word? What can you do to begin hiding His Word in your heart and mind?

Building Verses:

Romans 12:2

John 1;1 Isaiah 26:3

Philippians 2:5

Jeremiah 15:16

Romans 8:6
