The Battle
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 NASB
Far too many times we get weighed down and stressed out and pulled so tight that we feel like we are going to break. Life has us by the neck and we feel like we have “no control.” That is the very thing control, those of us who struggle with this know the very thing that I am talking about. The kids have us stressed out and our job has us stressed out, any situation. We often times want a break, a vacation, or something that takes us away from the problem we are facing. We are wanting to reboot get refreshed then head right back in ready to fight. That is not what God wants. Often times the situation that we are facing is an ordained situation that is made for your benefit.
To grow you need to weed out characteristics that are hindering you. Jesus says in this scripture to take my yoke, that means we have to put ours down. A yoke is meant to guide and control. Jesus says my yoke is easy that is because we have surrendered and are trusting. Knowing that he has our absolute best in mind. I wish to point one thing out, Jesus doesn’t remove you from the field. The same problem that has you stressed out is still there but you have surrendered it to God. The work is still there, but you have peace. You find rest, no longer struggling but conquering your situation. Learn to release control put your yoke down and take his because he is gentle and humble in heart.
God has complete control. He gives peace and rest not removing you but completing you.
