Resurrection

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Salvation is a resurrection of our crucified flesh. We no longer live under self-sufficiency but everything we do and say comes from the Father. We surrender control to God, being grateful for His presence and yearning for more of Him.

The Passion Week is past and Easter for another year is behind us. We celebrated Christ’s resurrection. The very foundation of our belief is faith in the fact that Jesus is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father. Because He lives, we can live! Laying our life down and crucifying our flesh is no casual matter. It is an act of demolishing completely the old life and setting our sights on Christ. Committing to a life of faith and following the one who gave His life for us.

Jesus tells us in Luke 9:23, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Did you catch it? DAILY. The commentary in the Life in the Spirit Study Bible puts it this way, the choice between denying ourselves or living for our own selfish desires must be made daily. That choice will determine our eternal destiny.

For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole word and loses or forfeits himself? Luke 9:25

What choice did you make today? Lay aside every sin and weight that is entangling you. It is worth every effort. Pick up the cross, crucify the flesh and resurrect your life into newness with Christ. Allowing change will bring joy. Live today in the joy of the Lord.
