Light It Up

Psalms 18:28-29 “For thou will light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.” “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”

We are to carry a flame not by our might but by the spirit of God. He is the one who lights our candle but then it is up to us to keep it lit, it is up to us to carry that flame and light other people’s torches.

I love the old Sunday school song that says:

“This little light of mine I'm going to let it shine, this little light of mine I'm going to let it shine, let it shine let it shine let it shine, hide it under a bushel no I'm going to let it shine. Let it shine let it shine let it shine”

Are we letting our light shine or are we letting it go out? Are we letting the things of this world dim our flame or the devil tamper with our torch? It is up to us to draw near to God and let him fan the flame.

Isaiah 60:1-2 “Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

My prayer for today is that you will get close to God let him fan the flame. Let your flame get big and bright for all the world to see, not you but Christ in you. That they may come to the knowledge of Christ as their personal savior.
