God’s Peace and Comfort

Everyone here has experienced grief in different ways. We get angry and wonder “Why would this happen? What did I do to deserve this? Why is God punishing me?” It’s our human instincts to try to find an explanation even when there is no explanation for tragedies. What we have to understand is that God doesn’t hurt His people, He doesn’t cause us pain, but God uses the evil of the world for our good. Unfortunately, we will never get an answer for all of life’s downfalls until we see God face to face. By the time we get to heaven, none of it will even matter anymore. However, in the midst of the pain and the hurt, cling to the fact that He has never abandoned us, and He never will.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 23:4 NIV

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 NIV

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:2-4 NIV

When you’re faced with trials, don’t run away and try to handle it on your own. Give it all to God. If you’re like me, it’s not gonna be easy to give up control of how you handle these things. Giving every ounce of my pain to God is one of the hardest things I’ve done, and I still continue to do it every day. The easy part is living life knowing God will never let you go. He loved you before, and He still does. We serve a God that never changes, and His love will never fail.
