Nearing the Red Zone

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have longed for His appearing. 2nd Timothy 4:7, 8

The red zone is that last few yards before the team scores a touchdown.

Paul the great apostle was nearing the red zone of life. He was reviewing his life and ministry for God. He considered the Christian life as a good fight. He had fought Satan, evil spirits, and even Judaism. He saw himself as finishing a race. He had kept the faith, in spite of, severe testing, great discouragement, and much trouble. He had been forsaken by friends and opposed by false teachers. Still he kept the faith and was looking forward to the crown of life God has in store for him when his life here was over. Many times, he tells us how God stood with him and strengthened him during trials. He does the same for you and me today.

I believe God’s people are nearing the red zone of time. Jesus will soon be coming to take His children home. Don’t allow the news of the day to cause discouragement. Paul told Timothy there was a crown of righteousness awaiting every one that longed for his appearing. So, keep your heart right with God and your ear tuned to the heavens; the trumpet may sound any day.

We serve a great God
