Rejoice

We were just recently at Roaring River fishing and camping. During our trips to this beautiful place, I personally love sitting and observing God’s creation. As I was sitting and taking in the peaceful noises of nature, I heard a startling loud noise. I began to try and figure out where the loud noise was coming from. I looked around and found a group of young boys cheering as another boy was reeling in a fish. I began thinking about what makes people so excited that they cheer loud enough to startle someone. As I thought about it my heart began to ache. The world tells us to get excited about home runs, championships, touchdowns, goals, and even knocking someone out in boxing. The Bible tells us:

“In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” Luke 15:10

As followers of Christ we should be more excited about a sinner repenting and coming to the Lord but many times we clap our

hands or just go on about the day. We should be rejoicing with the angels. Let’s get away from the mundane rituals of church and start cheering and rejoicing like we would at our favorite team’s sporting events. We need to be more excited about souls saved!
