Was it Worth it? (Part2)

Another good example that reminds us God is our creator and that He know everything we think and do is found in Acts 5, the story of Ananias an Sapphira.

Ananias and Sapphira were man and wife who decided to sell a possession and give the money to the apostles just like Barnabas did earlier. Ananias decides to keep back part of it and his wife was aware of it. He brings it and Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” We all know what happens to him and later to his wife. He hid everything in his heart and we k n ow God is an expert on the heart!

Matthew 15:18-19, “But these things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”

The candy bar that I ate and then hid was not a sin but it was something that didn’t help me on the road to better health. I have been involved in SIN and I do know all about it and the consequences-it ain’t easy coming before the Savior and confessing. Every Easter I fell such pain and sorrow to see Jesus take on the sin of the world but yet I understand the plan of God. We serve a God who loves us and He know us so well! When Adam and Eve hid themselves He knew why-just like He knows our hidden sins! Your sin will be revealed (look at what is going on in society today) but there is hope. I repented (praise the Lord), you have probably done the same but sin does have consequences. You can be a murderer but you have to pay the price. Both men died on the cross but only one went with Jesus.

Gehazi’s curse was on his family and you might be part of a broken family, still fighting drug and other addictions. You might have lost your reputation BUT there is Jesus to help you every step of the way. All you have to do is call out for help and He will send someone (like the Restoration class) to walk the path with you.

There is an old song written in 1927 that says Victory Today is Mine. The chorus goes like this:

Victory, victory, victory is mine,

I’ve had it in my soul since Jesus made me whole;

Victory, victory, victory is mine; the victory today is mine.

Clear your heart of hide n’ things and bring them into the Light today.
