Top of the Morning

August 10, 2018

There is just something about mornings that I love.  I am one of those obnoxious morning people as my husband puts it! I truly love waking in the morning and getting up to spend time with the Lord.  There are so many scriptures that talk about the morning.  The very fact that Jesus got up early to pray makes me feel like he desired to be alone with the Father at that time, as do I.  Not to mention that joy comes in the morning and who couldn’t get up for that?  Well, for those who are not so morningly inclined there is always coffee, and there are many scriptures that talk about the evening as well if you are one of those crazy night owls like my husband.  Point is whether you are a night owl or lover of the morning, Jesus will meet you where and when you will make time for him.  My prayer is that you too will find that place and special time with our Savior.

Activities in scripture for the morning:

Incense burned every morning

Burnt offerings offered every morning

Candlestick in tabernacle trimmed every morning

Lambs offered in sacrifice every morning

Manna gathered every morning

God’s mercy renewed every morning

Lamentations 3:22-23 “ the Lord's loving kindnesses indeed never cease for his compassions never fail they are new every morning great is your faithfulness”.

Psalm 5:3 “in the morning, oh Lord,  you will hear my voice in the morning I will order my prayer to you and eagerly watch”.

Mark 1:35 “ And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed”.

Psalm 88:13 “ But I, O Lord, cry to you; in the morning my prayer comes before you”.

1 Chronicles 23:30 “ They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the Lord, and likewise at evening”.

Psalm 30:5 “ For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor for a lifetime.  Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning”.
