Follow His Call

1 Peter 2:21 “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking and praying to follow in Christ’s footsteps. This has become a great burden and desire in my heart. I’m amazed at the Lord’s plan and I’ve been pondering my willingness to obey. God gives us dreams and visions, He calls us out into deep waters sometimes, but it is His work, not ours. We spend so much time focusing on our weakness and fears, sometimes those things overshadow the Word.

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

James 2:17 “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Any dream from the Lord will be held up by the Word of God. What has He placed in your heart to do for the kingdom? What is He asking you to do? Do not be afraid, the Lord goes before you. Our God is the God of the impossible, but he extends miraculous things to those who walk with Him. He allows us to simply be a part of what HE is doing, all we have to do is obey. Don’t worry about one step before the other because you are not leading the way, you are following. Johnny Minick wrote a song called “If I Knew Then What I Know Now”. He talks about how he never would’ve doubted, or questioned the plans God made, had he knew then what he knows now.

It’s easy to speak on the other side of things, but difficult to step out of the boat. However, we never have the testimony of God’s goodness until we accompany action with obedience. The Lord’s plans are beyond your capabilities, but thank Jesus,

He is victorious over all things and He goes before us. Follow His call, and you’ll be amazed where it will take you.
