Emotions

John 14:15-18 “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

John 14:21 “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”

Our emotions will make orphans out of us. When we allow our emotions to dictate our truth, hopelessness creeps in. The Lord has called us to replace our cares and our burdens with the truth of His word and prayer. He wants to hear about our worries. Yes He knows all but when we humble ourselves before Him, and simply say, “I need you God.” We invite Him in.

What’s troubling you? What situation seems too big for you? Are you burned out, stressed, and hopeless? Stop trying to figure out what is beyond you, and go sit with the Father. Jesus longs to be invited in. He longs to speak to you, to lift your weary head, and speak life to you. He longs to be your Father. “I will NOT leave you orphans; I will come to you.” It’s a promise.

When our emotions interpret reality, they do not speak truth. Our God is in the miracle business, He is not bound to the laws of nature. He owns all finances, He conquered death, hell and the grave. He comes with healing in His hands, He sets the captive free. He delivers the bound and oppressed. With one breath, with one word, with one touch, He changes everything. His presence changes everything.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

I encourage you, do not trust your heart, or your emotions, trust the Word. Jesus stands waiting with hope for you. He knows the way when we can't see the way out. He has the answers when we do not. His truth, the only truth, brings peace. Set your emotions aside and listen to the Father’s voice. He loves you, and He will show up in the midst of your trial if you invite Him in.

Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT “Do not be afraid or discouraged for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you or abandon you.”
