Feed Me, Feed Me

I enjoy watching adult birds feed their young. Even before the parent lands on the nest, the baby birds have their mouths wide open. They eagerly receive the food and willingly take whatever the parent brings.

I wonder are we always eager for our Heavenly Father to feed us? Sometimes, we think we have all the knowledge we need about a certain subject. We may be preoccupied with a life circumstance and not pay attention. We may not be willing to change our idea about a subject.

Our Heavenly Father knows the best food for us at any given time; the same as the birds know the best food for their babies. Scripture, a pastor, the Holy Spirit, or a friend are various ways we are fed.

Through Bible Studies and listening to the Holy Spirit, many times I’ve had to change my idea about God’s personality, my identity in Him, what He wants me to do with my life, and how He wants me to treat others. Allowing God to feed me has always brought improvement to my life.

“Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.” Psalm 119:33-35 (NIV)
