I AM

We all know the story of Moses and the burning bush. God comes to Moses as a bush

engulfed in flames and gives Moses his instructions on setting God’s people free from

Pharaoh's commands. But also in this, God says something to Moses that really stuck

out to me. In Exodus chapter 3 verse 13 Moses asks, “​Suppose I go to the Israelites

and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, what is

His name? Then what shall I tell them? “God responds in verse 14, ​“I AM WHO I AM.

Tell the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.” ​

When God says this he doesn’t hesitate, he doesn’t come up with some elaborate, special response. All that people needed to know is that he is the I AM and that he can do anything!

He tells us that this is who he is from generation to generation. God promised to deliver his people out of Egypt and he did. He can and will do the same thing for me and you, from the things that hold us back or the things that push us further away from him. He has set a path before you that only he knows and can put things in your life, guide you to stay, and go further down that path.

So just remember that God is The I AM. He is the same yesterday,

today, and forever if you just believe that he is and he will direct your path and fulfill your life.
