Is there enough evidence to use against you for being a Christian today? Here are some new little details that should be budding and growing in our lives after accepting and believing in Jesus Christ.
• A new love for God and want to please Him. John the Baptist told the Jews that they must bring forth 'fruit' worthy of repentance. Matthew 3:8.
The Greek verb that is translated "repent" is metanoeo. It means after thought. It gives the idea of thinking about a deed after doing it. It really means or entails a resolve to cease the wrongful conduct, replacing it with godly living. Colossians 1:10 - ...so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
A new love for scripture. Psalms 119:9-12, Romans 12:2, I Peter 2:2 - "As a newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow up...."
Having an awareness of right and wrong. Hebrews 5:13- 14, Philippians 2:5
Having a desire to be like Jesus - Ephesians 5:1 - "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. Romans 8:29 - "Be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ."
Having a heart to be a witness and proclaim Jesus Christ to others. Acts 1:8 - "...but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses...." Colossians 1:28-29
• A new love for other Christians. I John 3:14 - "We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death."
Today, take time to search the scriptures and see where your reflecting Father God. You are a blessing!
