Are You Grateful? Are You Thankful?
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that in order to achieve contentment one should cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.
The Apostle Paul says in I Thessalonians 5:18, "In everything give thanks": Why? "for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
I believe and I bet Mr. Emerson would agree that being a thankful and grateful person eliminates a ton of stress.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy....think and meditate on these things."
Adopting an attitude of gratitude and thankfulness will open many doors of favor in your life. Be on the lookout to return to others a “thanks”. Also, use little moments with grandchildren to teach thankfulness.
"You can never give enough thanks out!"
I found in an article by Lindsay Holmes, it said that research has found that positive thoughts shared on social media spread faster than negative - something that makes the gratitude process a lot easier when turning to the internet.
