Glow Sticks

What was the best part about being younger and going to a friend’s house for a big sleepover? The fun games you play with your friends, the silly movies, and of course, night time hide and seek! But no game of hide and seek in the dark is complete without a few glow sticks to help along the way.

God’s people are kind of like glow sticks in a way. If you want to use a glow stick, you have to break it all the way up and down before it will glow. But as humans, we have to empty ourselves out completely before we can be filled with Christ. Sometimes, that even means that we must go all the way to our breaking point in order to fully die to ourselves and become new in Christ. Kind of like how glow sticks have to be broken before they glow, we sometimes have to be broken in order for God to fill us up and use us to spread His light.
