Exposure

We listen to The Message radio staion in our car and many times it is just background noise. I have quickly found it is not just background noise it becomes the songs my children sing. We were shopping, and Corbin began singing “Just Give Me Jesus.” I started to think about the things that I might expose myself to intentionally or unintentionally. Many times I have the television on but not really watching, but my eyes and ears are still exposed to what comes on commercials or the show.

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Luke 11: 34-36

We are called to shine our light so that others may glorify our Father. We must have healthy eyes so that our whole body is healthy to carry and shine the light.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5: 16

Are you exposing yourself to things intentionally or unintentionally that would cause your light to be dimed or completely dark? I encourage you to think about things that your eyes and your children’s eyes might be exposed to seeing daily.
