A God That Will

I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

God has a plan for your life and will show you the right steps to take but it is about trust. Fasting will help us come to a place where we truly understand that God can and God will. It is hard for us to reach this point because we rely on our own efforts but it is about Christ’s sufficiency and not our own. God knows what trials and problems we face. His promises are all encompassing. There is not an area or problem in your life that God is not willing to help, no matter how small.

Here, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Psalm 86:1 (NIV)

According to Jennifer Rothschild, God is ready to help us and He hears clearly when we echo back His words. God is a God that will. He will help us. He will deliver us. He will save us. He will provide for us. He will heal us. He will protect us. He sees us and He hears us. Any request we make of God is asking Him to establish our steps and direct our paths. This fast is a big step in understanding that “God Will”. We have to get out of the way and let Him guide and direct. We have to trust Him for all our needs. The longer we stay committed to this fast the more changes we will see. Our desire to spend more time with God will shift our priorities and the things we were trying to control will come in to focus and we will be able to lay them at Jesus’ feet.

What the Lord says is right and true. He is faithful in everything he does. Psalm 33:4 (NIRV)
