God Help Me not be "Rivaled" with and by the Cares of this Life

Rivaled means to be challenged by....to compete with.

Mark 4:19-21 "And the cares of this word, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word.... (the word worry in German means to strangle or choke...and another definition is to divide the mind.) ....and it becomes unfruitful.

And these are they which are sown on good ground: such as hear the word and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty and some an hundred.

And He said unto them, is a candle brought to be put under a bushel or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

What is a bushel?

A bushel (abbreviation = bsh or bu) is an imperial and US customary unit of weight or mass based upon an earlier measure of dry capacity. Example of a bushel of apples weigh around 40 lbs. to 4 lbs.

Don't let your candle be overwhelmed by a bushel of things that can be weighty on you.

Especially these...

• the cares of this life

• deceitfulness of riches and getting money

• lust of things

*Remember this verse in Proverbs 27:20 "Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied: So the eyes of man are never satisfied. Note: Be careful on the connotation.

Father God, I come to you today in Jesus name and I repent of allowing my mind and life be carried away by Stuff Seen and Not Seen. Help me to cast my cares on you at this very moment. Help me also to concentrate and eliminate what is vital and can be disposed of.

Dispose = means in Latin to put in order or arrange.
