Ruts in the Yard

While recovering from a financial problem, friends of Bill and Cathy needed a place to park their motor home and live in for a few months. Bill and Cathy graciously offered to let them park the motor home in their large yard. It was fun having their friends close by to visit with and share meals while at the same time helping them.

When their friends moved to another city, deep ruts were left behind in the yard from where the heavy motor home had been parked. Bill and Cathy weren’t upset about the ruts in the yard. They just grabbed their rakes to smooth out the dirt and then watered for the grass to grow back. In a couple months, the yard did not reveal any damage done by the motor home.

Helping others sometimes involves a sacrifice on our part, but God is pleased with our efforts when we help and share what we have.

Caring for others is more important than our own discomfort.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16 (NIV)
