Today you need rest for your soul. Today you need rest for your mind, will and emotions.
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest. Hebrews 4:11
The writer of Hebrews is showing us an Old Testament image. In Hebrews 4:3, he recalls Psalm 95:11 in order to give us the context for this word for rest. The Hebrew word is a form of “nvach” and it implies a “settled security”. It is kind of like the ark “resting” on the mountain. Also, it is like God placing Adam in the garden, a place of rest, peace and security. It’s the place where God’s very presence comforts and secures us. Know that God is in charge and He will provide every need in your life. Stand strong on His Word.
God will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him. Isaiah 26:3
