Defend Your Faih
“Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”
Jude 1:3-4 NLT
You can look at the state of the world that we live in and see that it needs Jesus. The pain, grief, rebellion, and desires of the flesh has taken hold. Many know of Jesus and have once lived for Him, only now to live in the sin that Jesus came to deliver us from. He has called us to righteousness, called us to holiness, and called us to be a light to the world we live in.
This being said, be on guard to defend your faith. Don’t let people steer you away from what the Lord has given to us in His Holy Word. Grace does not let us live in sin, but grace allows us to live as free people. Not enslaved, not in condemnation, not in shame, it pushes us up to righteousness. A gift of true freedom that is in Christ Jesus. Elevated above sin to a life that has a promise of eternal life.
Who would give up that promise for a life of sin and shame? Many have. Defend your faith so that they can once again see Jesus be a light house warning them of the dangers that are ahead.
