Feed Your Mind

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

I am always telling the kids in Children’s Church that the devil is after their mind. If he can control their thoughts, then he will control them. The way we think can change our perspective on problems. I used to have an inspirational phrase on my office that said, “Change your thoughts and you will change your world.” It is true. Our thoughts not only shape our life but they influence our family, friends and anyone around us. The Bible gives us instructions to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

The only way to capture your every thought is to completely and wholeheartedly trust God. The devil’s devices send us into a worried frenzy. Our thoughts swirl around in our head faster and faster until confusion sets in. We talk to friends, research on the computer, bite our nails and worry. This flurry of activity solves nothing, not to mention that Satan is the author of all confusion.

The answer to capturing our thoughts is found in Psalm 46:10,Be still and know that I am God. Capturing our thoughts requires stillness. Sadly, we if we don’t take time for prayer our thoughts will continue to swirl. Be still. Take time to let God capture your thoughts.

I want to share a quote that a friend of mine posted on Facebook. It is from Powerful Inspiration Daily. Be still, “think” on these things and let God feed your mind.

Your mind will always believe everything you tell it.

Feed it faith.

Feed it truth.

Feed it with love.
