Return for Worship

September 13, 2019

I was reading Luke chapter 17:11-19 concerning the story of the ten lepers Jesus healed. In verse 15, we see that only one of the those healed returned to give thanks to Jesus. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”  I began to ask myself, how often have I returned to give thanks? How often do I revisit the miracles in my life? How often to I consider the works the Lord has done, and simply come before Him with worship?

This passage shows us the thoughts God has concerning gratitude and worship. I really believe that He knows that if we get a hold of the principle of worship and gratitude we will continue to stay in healing. It's hard to meditate on discouraging things, or stay bitter, or refuse to believe in healing when you continually revisit the Master to worship. We are reminded of His power, our faith is strengthen as in those testimonies we KNOW He is able and willing.

Our hearts change, our thoughts change, and consequently we change. The only leaper healed who received a word from Jesus, was the one that returned. That's a powerful concept. Through taking time to worship the Lord for what He has done, you may encounter a filling of His presence and a fresh word.

Take time to go back to the places the Lord has been faithful and give praise. Not only will it change you, it will keep you.
