Going Home

“We’ll be home in two more days,” Larry said. “Are you ready?” We zoomed past the slow vehicle while traveling in our RV. Our four months in Oregon in 2012 while volunteering with the Sower ministry and then sight-seeing was completed.

Larry and I love to travel. We enjoy visiting museums, historical places, amusement parks, flea markets, national and state parks. The marvelous scenery God has provided is unforgettable. Seeing family and friends is a highlight. It is exciting to plan our trips and then see the places we envisioned. But after a while, we are ready to go back home.

Home is where I am most comfortable and have easy access to my possessions. I am familiar with the area, and know where to get help and support when needed. Home is where I feel that I belong.

Even though I enjoy being in and seeing this marvelous world, it is not my permanent home. Heaven will soon be my home. I want to fulfill God’s plan for me here on earth, but going home will be wonderful. There I will be with my Savior, family and friends. I’m sure it will be a comfortable, fulfilling place that Jesus is preparing for me.

“In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3 (NIV)
