Kindness and Truth

“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man.”

Proverbs 3:3-4 NASB

This was in my reading for today and spoke volumes to me. So often I let the worries of the day and the situations affect my behavior. As I was reading in Proverbs I was almost rushing through it when I stopped and had to re-read the 3rd and 4th verse.

Do not let kindness and truth leave you! Bind them around your neck, and write them on your heart. This means in every way, in every step, in every situation. This means when you are not treated the best, because it is not just about how you treat others it is about finding favor and good repute with our God and that by far out ways anything else.

This does not just mean when you are under attack it is stopping and talking to someone who is lonely or just needing to know someone cares and here is genuine kindness. I know that God is looking on and smiling when he sees one of his kids warming the heart of another. Be kindness, Be Truth and Be a Man or Women of Good repute and God’s favor will be on you.
