Submit Your Thoughts

November 18, 2019

“We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”

2 Corinthians 10:5-6 NASB

I’ve been listening to a lot of teaching on the thought life and quantum physics. What’s particularly interesting is how much our thought life dictates our emotional and physical health overall. For instance, did you know that if you have a negative thought, be it a trigger of a bad memory, strong emotion or whatever the case. And you suppress it, pushing it down and you refuse to deal with it, (and it will continually resurface until it is dealt with). Eventually in your brain it causes damage so much so imagining shows it as a black hole. That is incredible.

The word of God tells us that we are to capture our thoughts and make them obedient to a Christ. Why? Because Jesus doesn’t desire for us to suppress, feel hopeless and defeated. Rather take a moment to think, feel what you feel and then choose what you’re going to do. It’s the choosing to let Jesus have it, to submit your thoughts to the word and what God is saying and relinquish it to His control and the truth of the word. God desires wholeness for His children and it’s the obedience to the Word that will bring it.
