Brandon and I were recently presenting on de-escalating behavior strategies to a group of educational professionals. We explained restorative discipline verses punitive punishment. We explained restorative discipline as having grace but correcting the behavior through love. Punitive punishment is drawing a hard line and every small mess up has a harsh consequence.

As we were presenting, The Lord put on my heart that under His blood we live by restorative discipline (grace) and not by harsh punishment. At times, the enemy attacks the mind and we believe something bad happened as a punishment but in the following verse, it describes grace.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

As believes we live under grace and we can have confidence that in times of need we will receive mercy and grace. Remember, grace does not allow us to live like rebels one day and Christians the next because the Bible is clear about lukewarm Christians being spat out. Never look back to the time you lived outside the blood covering but live under grace and mercy.
