“Deliver those who are being taken away to death, And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, “See, we did not know this,” Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?”
Proverbs 24:11-12 NASB
I recently listened to a sermon using this text and was deeply convicted. I’ve been reading statistics on the lost, on those who have no Bible, and the repercussions of generations to come if we do not rise up and evangelize. We are deeply moved when commercials come on with starving children, war affected countries, those in need. Yet, we walk out of our doors surrounded by those “staggering to the slaughter” and say nothing.
My heart aches with the burden of the lost and yet there is a remedy! I have it! The blood of Jesus saves the dying. It restores to the uttermost! I know what my Savior has done for me, He expects me to share it with EVERYONE.
Friends the day is coming that we will give an account on how we spent our time. Who we encountered, and how we shared the gospel. We either yield to the Spirit or we yield to our own agenda. I pray that the Lord would soften my heart and rearrange my priorities. We have a mandate from God to rescue those headed for sure destruction. We have the answer friends! The question is will we share the message of the cross? I pray that the Lord May find us faithful in sharing the hope of glory.
