Recently preforming “The Stool” for our Highlands Ministries Fundraiser. This skit hit home for me. Because time after time I have given my burdens over to God, and asking for help and all is good. God has taken care of them and no longer do I feel the weight of them. Except....for one...I have given this one particular situation to the Lord several times. Due to the fact each week I am faced with this situation and overwhelming feeling over and over. Countless times I pray, I hand it over to God and I pray some more then BAM!!! Situation back in my face. So then I’m like ok God if you are not going to help I’ll take it back. That’s where I fail, as most of us do. Because every time we start to feel burdened, anxious, overwhelmed, even fear comes in our lives. It is only because we truly haven’t given it over to God in the first place. This will always lead us to feeling a great deal of heaviness every time we give something to God and we take it back. We are taking on more than we can handle. We were never meant to do everything alone. We should do our part and give God what he already promised that he would take care of. And only then we will be able to manage us with ease knowing that God is taking care of the rest.

He knows all before we know anything. So have faith that every situation, every burden will be handled. But not on our timing, on Gods timing. I know sometimes that somethings can destabilize us, at times they can even capsize or even shake our faith. Our eyes sometimes can become no longer fixed on Christ but on our suffering. And then even sometimes it’s hard to move forward and cause us to fall. So please don’t fall as I almost did. Trust....do not expect God’s “how” (which may not be what you have imagined) but rather, to place your expectation in the Lord Himself. And only to your surprise you will then begin to see in the Lord and how he uses little things to pull us out of situations that are beyond us...just like

• Moses had a staff to save an entire people. Exodus 4:2-3

• Goliath was conquered by a shepherd and his smooth stones. 1 Samuel 17:40-50

• The widow received what she needed to pay her debts and live thanks to a bit of oil. 2 Kings 4:1-7)

• The Savior of the world came... in the form of a little baby. Luke 2:10-13)

As you see! The power of the solution is not in its size, but in the might of the One who brings it about in your life! Because I know in my life I had times of doubt. Don’t give up. He is still working for our good and his glory. And He has promised that he will allow no trial to be so great we cannot bear it and he will provide a means of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13

So remember:

“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous fall.” Psalms 55:22

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
