Overflowing

What is it that you are overflowing with?

Typically in life, what people see come out of us, are the things in which we are overflowing with. Now when we break this down for a minute and look at it, we should note that in order for something to be overflowing there is absolutely so much of it that it cannot be contained within whatever is holding it, therefore some must be let out. In other words, let it overflow.

Out life is filled with so many emotions from happy, sad, angry, thankful...the list just never really seems to stop. With most of these emotions come the necessity in our life to share it with the people around us, and you guessed it, we overflow with it. It seems easy sometimes to let all the negative out because that is almost what the world is built on these days, but what we should overflow with is gratitude and thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6-7 tells us: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

So what are you overflowing with? What do the people around you see coming out of you? Are you so full of Jesus and your thankfulness for him that everyone around you sees it pouring out of you? Or do you just have enough of him to barely keep you full. Let’s live a life that’s overflowing.
