God Uses a Fast to Bring Lasting Results

The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure, and all of them are righteous. Psalm 19:9 (NIV)

When Brandon was young, he loved to participate in sports. It didn’t really matter what sport, he loved them all. The years passed and he began to specialize. As he grew closer to graduation from High School he realized that he needed to dedicate time to one sport in order to, develop the skills necessary to play at the college level. This dedication brought the results he desired. He was able to play baseball in college and extend his athletic career. Dedication, hard work and time spent paid off.

It is the same with our Christian walk. Dedication to this fast and time spent with God will bring about change. Change that will make our lives better. Change that will make a difference spiritually. Change that can’t help but rock our world. Dedication brings change and change brings strength and faithfulness. Strength and faithfulness in God will bring lasting results in your life and those that are around you.

I believe this fast will change your life. I also believe that the change will last. If you are dedicated to this fast and your time with God, you can’t help but be changed. Once you make the choice to fast, God will give you the strength for this sacrifice. If you are faithful to pray and fast your very existence will be rocked. We are nearing the end of our fast and I would venture to say that at this point you already have a story to share. So share it! Let others know what God is doing in your life. If you have someone close to you that is still rejecting God, now is the time to share. They can’t argue with personal experience. Your steadfastness and the lasting result in your life from this fast will affect theirs.

And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17 (NASB)
