Be a Warrior
Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the Lord do what is good in His sight. 2 Samuel 10:12 (NSB)
Our life is a battleground. Daily we are in the heat of the battle both physically and spiritually. As Christians, our fight is against powers of this world that call us away from God. But putting on the whole armor of God we can face and defeat every enemy. The dictionary will tell you that a warrior is someone who shows or has shown great courage or aggressiveness in warfare. We are not to be passive in facing our adversary the devil. He is walking around looking to devour us. We must fight aggressively armed in God’s armor:
Belt of Truth
Gospel Boots
Breastplate of Righteousness
Shield of Faith
Sword of the Spirit
Helmet of Salvation
We are armed with arrow stopping armor as we go into battle where God goes before us. He sees the wars that rage around us and His supply for the battle is endless if we will just turn to Him. Sometimes the fight before us seems overwhelming. Take heart, God is with you. He tells us in His Word that He will never leave us or forsake us. Rest assured He is stronger than any army. The battle will be won by trusting God every step of the way even when it seems we are losing ground. Our God is greater, our God is stronger, Our God is higher than any other! You sing it, do you believe it?
For you have girded me with strength for battle; you have subdued under me those who rose up against me. Psalm 18:39 (NASB)
Take heart mighty warrior, God is on your side!
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
