Giving Your Testimony

I recently gave my testimony at our restoration connection gathering. I felt like it paled in comparison to the last person who gave their testimony, but I was asked to share it so I was obedient with it. I was so surprised when one of the members of the class told me how it had “spoke” to them and also to someone in the class. It helped that person connect in a way that if I had not shared, maybe they wouldn’t have understood what the Lord is speaking. Scripture is clear that we are to spread the good news and we are to share our story with others.

Revelation 12:11

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

The Great Commission Matthew 28:18-20

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

You never know how your story will inspire and encourage someone else. Even if you don’t think it’s much of a story, God knows just who needs to hear it. Don’t be afraid to speak, the Holy Spirit will teach and train you and will give you words to say!
